Also,the most famous sites in Kyoto, such as Kinkakuji, Kiyomizu-dera and Nijo-jo are designated as UNESCO World Heritage Site, as well. Because Kyoto was the capital of Japan and important place, it appears in many historical scenes. For example, The incidents and battles of Meiji Restoration took places in Kyoto, and those spots are still exist. If you are big fun of Sengoku era, Genpei era, Genji-monogatari or Meiji Restration, Kyoto is the must visit spots.
