Ichinomiya Asama Shrine (一宮浅間神社) is the top shrine of all Yamanashi Prefecture located in Fuefuki city. It enshrines the goddess of Mt. Fuji, Konohana Sakuya. It was established in 865 when Mt. Fuji eruped. Also, it enshrines the god of the mountain.

Ichinomiya Asama Shrine
Enshrines: Konohanasakuya hime no mikoto.
Reitaisai: April 15.

Asama Shrine was originally established about 2000 years ago by the bottom of the mountain of gods. In 864, Mt. Fuji eruped and moved to the current location in the next year. It is considered as the top shrine of Yamanashi Prefecture. The old location is called Yamamiya Shrine today. The worshipping hall was constructed in 1672.
