Nakahechi, or Kiiji is one of the ancient pilgraimage routes of Kumano Sanzan Shrines. It starts from Kii Tanabe to Kumano Hongu Shrine, then connect to Nachi Shrine and Hayatama Shrine to visit all shrines of Kumano.

Gyubadoji is the small stone statue that represent the Emperor Kazan riding on the horse and caw. The trail goes into nice grove of Cedar trees.
Chikatsuyu Oji, the check point located near Hioki River. People used to Misogi, the cleansing their body and mind here. There are hotels around here to stay.
Tugizakura Oji, the check point has small tea house rest place. Around Tugizakura Oji, there are Nonaka's Ippo Sugi and great spring.
Hidehira Sakura is the end of this trail. Hidehira Sakura is the Cherry Blossom grown from the cane of Hidehira. Fujiwara no Hdehira is the lord of Oshu Hiraizume in the late Heian Period. When he was worshiping at Kumano, his wife gave birth their baby here. Hidehira stabbed his cane that is made from Sakura. This Hidehira Sakura is the one that grown up from his cane.
