Kuroe (黒江) is one of the Edo Style Town located in Kaina, Wakayama Prefecture. It is also known as the town of Shikki, Japanese lacquerware. Kuroe's Shikki is considered as one of the four major Shikki in Japan. There are many traditional houses are still remaining here and some of the lacquerware shops, studio and museums in this town.

Kuroe
Kuroe is the birthplace of Soy Sauce located in Wakayama Prefecture. There are many traditional houses that have a view of Edo period. It is also known as the town of Shikki, Japanese Lacquerware. It has 400 years of the history as the lacquerware. Those traditional houses have the feature of Kyoto Houses. At the Shikki museum, you can see the all the tools and products of Japanese lacquerware.
