1st Shrine of Niigata
Iyahiko Shrine (彌彦神社) is the primary shrine of Niigata Prefecture. It was established in the period of Japanese Myth. This shrine appears in Kojiki and Manyoshu. It enshrines Amenokaguyama no Mikoto, the founder of this land of Niigata. This god is also known as the god of a warrior.
Therefore, many famous worriers such as Minamoto no Yosiie and Uesugi Kenshin. Most of the buildings, road and other structures are registered cultural assets. At the garden, there are many different kinds of Sakura.
