Tsukimizu Pond (月不見の池) is one of the scenic beauty spots in southern Niigata. It was created by the land siding. The water is coming from the spring. You can also see the great huge rocks.

Access 0. at Itoigawa Station.
1. use Nihonkai Hisui Line to Kajiyashiki Station.
2. walk south.
Masses of very large rock around the Tsukimizunoike Pond had been carried to here from the upper mountains by the huge landslide. The source of the pond is spring which flows down along the underground slip plane. It supplies abundant cold clear water to the local residents. The water level of the pond changes season to season. It goes up by abundant that water is spring, and goes down gradually over summer to autumn.
