Aso Falls

Travel Information

Aso Falls (麻苧の滝, asonotaki) is one of the waterfalls in Annaka City. It is about 40 m high. This waterfall is also known as Ichimeiasahi fall. There are six other waterfalls around Aso Falls. Those waterfalls are located in Mt. Myogi which is rock mountain, so the scenery of this waterfall is the great harmony of water and rock. In Gunma prefecture, there are over 50 waterfalls.

There are parking and restroom at the entrance.

0. at Maebashi Station
1. use JR Ryomo Line to Takasaki (14 min.)
2. use JR Shinetsu Line to Yokokawa (22 min.)
3. walk south west (15 min.)

Aso Falls

Aso Falls was used to be an austerity for Buddhist monk. Therefore, there are many buddha statues around this waterfalls. It is very beautiful with the rocks. Especially, in the raining season, the amount of water will beautifully increase and make this waterfalls very strong.

The name "Aso" comes because it looks like hemp rope. There are many hiking course around this waterfalls. Check out the other six waterfalls during the nice hiking, too.
