Travel Information

Kyonan Town (鋸南町) is a port town located west side of Boso Peninsula, Chiba Pref. It has super fresh fish products from its port and great outstanding view of Tokyo Bay from Mt. Nokogiri. Mt. Nokogiri is the main feature of Kyonan Town. It is a great temple with many beautiful Buddhist statues. It has also great buddha, Daibutsu.

Kyonan Town
Mt. Nokogiri (Nihonji Temple)
Mt. Nokogiri-yama (鋸山) is the stone-mountain located in Awa, Chiba. The Entire mountain is inside of the Nihonji Temple(日本寺). There is the wonderful landscape of Tokyo Bay, Boso Peninsula, and Miura Peninsula at the top of this mountain. From the famous cliff spot, Jigokunozoki(地獄覗き), literary means hell watch stand, you can see the bottom of the cliff from out standing rock. There are over 1,500 Buddha statues, great Buddha and great Kannon in this mountain.

Admission fee: 600 yen.

There is also Public Bath called "Banyano-yu."

Banyano-yu is located at the port of Kyonan.

Ukishima Island is another feature of Kyonan Town. It has a beautiful Sunsets. During the sunset, when the air is clear, you can enjoy watching Mt. Fuji as well.
