Mashiko Hands Forming Pottery (益子手びねり体験) is one of the fun pottery activities that kids will love. Mashiko is one of the famous pottery town in Japan located in eastern Tochigi Prefecture. This hands on experiencing is offered at Mashiko Kyohan Center. You can also enjoy painting and wheeling as well. It takes about 1 hour to finish and you can make one plate or one cup.

There are parking and restroom.
Time: 9:00 to 17:00
Admission: 1600 Yen. There is a group disscount.
It will takes about 2 months to burn it and finish your clay.

0. at Utsunomiya Station.
1. use local bus 123 to Mashiko (60 min.)
2. walk (20 min.)

Mashiko Hands Forming Pottery
Mashikoyaki kyohan center is the largest ceramic wholesale store in Japan. There are about 60 studios from Mashiko sales their ceramics at this store. It has also some of the ceramics that made by living national treasure.

Dish, cups, vase and all kinds of ceramic products are here and all of them are very reasonable price.

Tell them your name, time and date of visit, numbers of people, and your phone number.
Time: 9:00 to 16:00
1 hour course: 1,580 yen.
2 hours course: 2,100 yen.
Oneday course: 3,680 yen.

There is additional fee to burn your ceramics to finish. (the size of tea cup is 740 yen + Shipping fee.)
Take about 2 months to finish.

There is also painting ceramics from 470 yen ~
This one doesn't need reservation.
