Nakamura House (盛岡中村家住宅) is one of the merchant house located in Morioka, Iwate Pref. It was constructed in the late Edo period. Nakamura Family was a clothing warehouse since 18th century. It was rich merchant house.

There are a parking and restroom.
Admission: Free. Please ask the office to enter.
Time: 9:00 to 21:00 (by 17:00 for Sunday and Holiday)
Closed: Monday. When Monday is Holiday, next day will be closed. Year end and new years days.

Morioka Nakamura House
Nakamura House is one of the merchant house located in Morioka, Iwate Prefecture. Makamura Family was the owner of the clothing warehouse called Itoya. They are very powerful merchants in Morioka. It remains the original feature of merchant house in Edo period, usually, those merchant houses will be extended later, but this house has the original structure that is very rare.

This house was constructed in 1861 and one of few remaining merchant house in Tohoku region.

It has all kinds of the great feature of the architectures of Edo period.

Shop Zone
It has Koshi windows and Shitomi windows. Customers sit down on the edge of the Tatami floor and saw Kimono on Tatami Floor.

Kanza Room
It has the free space goes through the 2nd floor.
