Soma (相馬) is located north-east of Fukushima Prefecture. It is also known as Soso area. This area is located between pacific ocean and Abukuma Highland. This area is also called Hamadori area. Because it is facing on the pacific ocean, it has very warm weather and even it is in Tohoku Region, there is not much snowing. This area was very important for accessing north and Kanto for long time, therefore there are many historic sites in this area. There is the most famous Samurai Cavary Festival called Nomaoi Matsuri in this area. Hundreds of Samurai with armors rider horses, and do racing, parade and fighiting.
