The Seicho was located in the center of Akita castle. It was a place where important political matters and ceremonies were held. It measured 94m from east to west by 77m from north to south.
-The Outworks-
The original Tsuiji Wall was about 550 meters in length from east to west and north to south. The Tsuiji wall surrounding Akita forted government office was made of soil with the roofing on tiles. It was later changed to a wooden wall.
These are the reconstructed buildings of the east gate and the Tsuiji Wall, the outworks of the Akita castle, government office, which had originally been constructed in the 8th century and was discovered in 1989. When they were reconstructed, the wall has been piled up after beating the soil to harden it. The building materials for the east gate have been finished with ancient designed tools and colored Indian red.
