100 kinds 1000 Peonies

Sacred Peony Garden (神苑ぼたん庭園) is a very popular site in Hachiman Shrine in Kamakura. It was built in 1980 as the 800 anniversary of the establishment of Tsurugaoka Hachiman Shrine. From Jan. to the mid Feb., about 100 kinds 1000 Peonies will bloom. Those flowers are planted at the pond surrounding garden of Tsurugaoka Hachiman Shrine. You can enjoy Peony flower at winter and late spring.

Tourist Info.
There is parking and restroom.
Admission: 500 yen for adult and 200 for under high school.
Season: January to the early Feb. and the early Feb. to the early May.
Time: 9:00 to 16:30
