Shimane (島根) Prefecture belong to Chugoku region. It is also considered as Sanin Region. all north side of Shimane Prefecture are face to Sea of Japan. Therefore, it has great seafood. Shimane is also very important place for the history of Japan and Japanese Myth. The grand shrine of Izumo is the most important shrine in Japan. Moreover, there are many Japanese Myth related spots. Another historic site is Matsue Castle and Iwami Silver Mining. Matsue Castle is one of 12 existent remaining castles, and Iwami Silver Mining is designated as UNESCO World Heritage site. Southern Shimane has rich nature with beautiful mountain.
