Hirado Catholic Church, completed in 1931, has a reinforced concrete structure. One feature of the church exterior is an emphasis on the vertical aspect with the large steeple in the center and the small steeple on the left extending skyward. Several Gothic elements has been incorporated into the architecture, including the pointed arches above the windows and doors, the cluster of spires around the large steeple, and the flying buttresses on the sides. The marble patterns on the walls and columns, applied with traditional plastering techniques, are testimony to the superior skills of Hirado artians.
