Takayama Jinya (高山陣屋跡) is the ruins of a branch office of Edo Government. Takayama Jinya is the only remaining Jinya since Edo Period and designated as a National Historic Site of Japan. The Edo government directly ruled about 60 domains, called Tenryo, in various important areas of Japan. Jinya performed the administrative business, such as tax collection, finance, police action and judgement, and forest management.

Admission: 420 yen. there is group discount from 30~.
Open: 8:45 to 17:00(Mar. to Oct.), 18:00 (August), 16:30 (Nov. to Feb.)

Takayama Jinya

Takayama Jinya is completely reconstructed as the original structure in 1996. The front gate, the government official rooms, and storage are existing since Edo period.

... is the offices. The offices were clearly separated by the status (original).

Oshirasu
... is the civil court. The civil court is located in the front. Payment of the taxes were reported at the court, and judged about money problems and boundary issues of the land.

... is the conference room (original) has two scrolls said "Chu" and "Ko" means loyalty and respect to Shogun.
